We are committed to fostering a bowls community that is welcoming, supportive, and accessible for people of all ages, backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
Bowls is one of New Zealand's most inclusive sports—and we are actively working to ensure our environments, events, and pathways reflect that strength.
A community for all. A game for life.

We support opportunities that welcome people who may feel excluded from traditional sport—including social bowlers, older adults, rangatahi, people with disabilities, and those seeking connection and wellbeing through bowls.

We aim to reflect the true diversity of our community through imagery, storytelling, live coverage, and digital platforms—helping people see themselves in the sport.

We actively encourage mixed-gender and mixed-ability participation, challenging outdated structures and supporting inclusive formats at club, regional, and national levels.
Inclusion starts with safety.
Bowls New Zealand promotes a culture of respect and accountability, supported by:
Clear behaviour expectations
Strong safeguarding practices
Independent processes to address bullying, harassment, or discrimination
Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported within the bowls community.
