Check Your is a nationwide health awareness campaign from Bowls New Zealand, encouraging Kiwis to check in on their wellbeing by promoting brain health awareness and the early detection of breast, prostate, and testicular cancer.

In partnership with the Neurological Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ, we're calling on our bowls community—and all Kiwis—to prioritise their health.
Bowls is more than a game. It’s about people, connection, and looking out for one another. With thousands of players across Aotearoa, our clubs are at the heart of communities—and that makes them the perfect place to start important conversations.
Cancer, dementia, stroke and brain-related conditions have touched many lives in our bowling family. Through these campaigns, we're helping to start conversations, reduce stigma, promote early detection, and empower people with the knowledge to seek support when they need it most.
Throughout the year, we’ll be rolling out a range of events and initiatives to raise awareness and encourage action:
Pink and Blue Days at clubs to spark conversation and show support
Educational resources on how to self-check and what symptoms to watch for
Bowling for Brains fundraising events
Every club and every player can be part of this movement. Whether you're hosting a themed event, wearing pink and blue, or simply reminding a mate to get checked—you’re helping to save lives.
This is a chance for our bowls community to step up, support each other, and raise awareness where it matters most.
Check your brain health, Check you bowls. Your health is worth it.
