Clubs Workshop 2026

July 20, 2026

Stronger Together: Join the Clubs Workshop. Every bowls club is different. Some have found innovative ways to welcome new members, others have revitalised volunteering, strengthened community connections, upgraded facilities, or discovered fresh approaches to growing participation. Across New Zealand, clubs are finding solutions to common challenges and creating environments where people want to belong.

The Clubs Workshop is an opportunity to bring those experiences together. On 26–27 August 2026, bowlers, volunteers, club leaders, administrators, and passionate advocates from across Aotearoa will come together online to share ideas, explore opportunities, and discover practical ways to strengthen clubs and communities. Running from 10am–4pm each day, the workshop has been designed to deliver valuable insights in a format that works around busy schedules.

"There are fantastic things happening in clubs all across New Zealand. Too often those ideas stay within a single club or region. This workshop is about bringing people together, sharing what's working, and helping clubs learn from one another.

Bowls New Zealand High Performance Lead/Facilities Manager Paul Mackinnon

Real Stories. Fresh Ideas. Practical Solutions.

Across two days, attendees will hear from clubs and sector leaders who are making a difference in their communities. The programme will explore a range of topics, including:

• Growing Participation

• Enhancing Facilities

• Playing the Game

• Administrative Initiatives

The focus is on sharing experiences that have delivered results, providing clubs with practical ideas they can adapt and apply in their own situations.

A Workshop Designed for Busy People

Whether you join one session or attend both days, the programme gives you the flexibility to engage in a way that suits you.

✅ Join live and be part of the discussion

✅ Watch sessions on demand when it suits you

✅ Access practical, bite-sized 30-minute sessions

The workshop combines pre-recorded presentations and live discussions to create an engaging learning experience. Clubs and volunteers from around New Zealand will showcase successful projects, innovative approaches, lessons learned, and ideas worth sharing. These presentations are followed by live conversations where attendees can ask questions, swap experiences, and explore how those ideas could work in their own club environment.

With no travel required and recordings available afterwards, clubs can involve multiple volunteers, committee members, and leaders without having to commit large blocks of time away from work, family, or club responsibilities.

Learning From Each Other

The Clubs Workshop is more than a series of presentations. It is an opportunity to celebrate the great work already happening across the country, build new connections, and uncover practical ideas that can help clubs thrive now and into the future.
