Welcome to Onerahi Bowling Club!
The Onerahi Bowling Club is situated 5kms from the centre of Whangarei. It was established in 1954 as a community based club through a lot of hard work from its founding members. Over the years, the hard work and dedication to the sport has allowed the clubhouse to be extended to what it is today, with nice clubrooms, a carpet green and a grass green.
We have produced some very accomplished bowlers, but it is also a friendly base for the learner and average player.
The club is used by wider community groups on a regular basis for meetings and casual gatherings, ie Probus and Lions.
During the summer we run a twilight series for 18 weeks. Everyone is welcome and this is an opportunity for local families of all ages to get out and give bowls a go with lots of laughter and socialization.
Friday night corner to corner bowls is held during summer.
The club runs a “roll-up” every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1.00pm, which is open to everyone.
Sunday club days are held when there are no other events on at the club.
The club is administered and maintained by volunteers.
