Ruawai Bowling Club Inc.
was established in 1939 and is one of the oldest remaining institutions in Ruawai.
Initially the club was for male bowlers, croquet was played on the second green.
In 1955 the Ruawai Womens’ Bowling Club was formed.
The two clubs amalgamated formally in 2002.
Although the number of playing members has declined over the years, the Club is now also supported by a large number of social members, and has become an important hub for the local and surrounding communities.
