Situated in the town domain, The Temuka Bowling Club was founded in 1906.
The Temuka Bowling Club is the second oldest in South Canterbury, being established in 1906, and today remains in its beautiful setting among the gardens and trees of the town domain.
A very relaxed and social club, we have a proud record of welcoming new members, having swum against the tide in recent years by growing our playing membership to more than 100.
The growth has come on the back of innovation within the club and the upgrading of facilities and the recent development of one of the two natural greens into an artificial surface which allows bowls to be played all-year round.
A wide range of bowling opportunities is available for both social and the more serious bowlers, and the chance to learn the game from bowlers who have starred at national and provincial level.
The facilities attract considerable use from community groups and corporates for both bowls and functions, and such multi-purpose use has helped the club in obtaining significant funding from charitable trusts.
A warm welcome awaits anyone wishing to become a member, or anyone who wants a taste of bowls to see if it is the sport for them.
